Blue light, sunglasses, and eye health…?

I was wondering about something, maybe someone could enlighten me. The other day I was talking to a friend, and he told me about how blue light is typically bad for your eyes and its best to be avoided. Now, I was going to buy some Native Sunglasses that have the "Blue Reflex" tint (they look like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/War789/br.jpg ) for when I go cycling, but my friend told me these are not good for the eyes.

Just curious to see if anyone has any input on this issue, thanks!

If you play outdoor sporting activities, then you should invest in performance oakley sun glasses that enhances your game, not compromises it.  Whether you snowboard, fish, golf or play volleyball, quality performance sunglasses can improve your game - not only by cutting out glare, but by improving eyesight. Modern advanced performance eyewear lenses don't only block light; they adjust to light so that your clarity of vision is never compromised.

Performance eyewear has three benefits: it provides great protection from damaging UV rays, it reduces glare, and it makes you look cool.   Let's face it, you absolutely want to protect your eyes and minimize glare when you're on the field, the court, or the water, but you also want to look good while doing it!   Performance sunglasses from top names like Gargoyles, Ray Ban, Bolle and Oakley are unmatched in both their functionality and their fashion savvy.    The prices on such brands are a tad higher than what you would pay when buying sunglasses from your local gas station, but you totally get what you pay for.

Cheap oakley sun glasses are flimsy, scratch easily and offer mediocre eye protection.  If you are serious about your game and your eye health, you should invest in name brand performance sun glasses.  It's well worth the price to treat your eyes right and to have a durable, long lasting product you can rely on.

There are two key technologies that come into play in today's performance sunglasses:

Polarized Lenses - Polarized lenses work to reduce reflected glare from surfaces such as snow or water.   Reflected light from these surfaces is generally horizontally polarized.  Polarized lenses block out this horizontally polarized light with vertical polarizers built into the lens material.   As you can imagine, this feature is of great benefit to fishermen, snowboards, and skiers.

Polycarbonate Lenses - Polycarbonate lenses are very durable and impact resistant, which makes them perfect for use in sports.   Also, they are much thinner and lighter than typical lenses.   These lenses are often used in safety glasses as well.

The united forces of these two technologies produce performance eyewear that is highly effective and very durable, which makes them a good investment.  While cheaper performance oakley sun glasses can block direct light, and may even block out harmful UV rays, they do not have the advanced capabilities of polarization and polycarbonate lenses which make them suitable for intensive sporting use.

You should consider performance eyewear just as important as any other equipment your game requires. Not only can a quality pair of performance sunglasses improve your game, they also serve to protect your eyesight.  Don't forget that there is more to a pair of sunglasses than glare reduction.    Your vision is vital to your sport, so invest in a pair of performance sun glasses that improve your game and protect your eyes.
